Explore Luxor Tour from Hurghada: Egypt's 'Open-Air Museum'
Itinerary :Â
You will be picked up from your hotel in Hurghada and travel to Luxor in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Your first stop will be the renowned Karnak Temple, the largest place of worship ever built, known in ancient times as Ipet-isut, meaning "the most sacred of places." This vast complex of temples, constructed over more than two millennia by successive pharaohs, features the magnificent "Hypostyle Hall," a grand expanse of giant pillars.
Lunch will be served en route at a local restaurant in Luxor. Afterwards, you'll visit the west bank of the Nile River, starting with the colossal statues of Amenhotep III (Colossi of Memnon). Next, you'll explore the Valley of the Kings, famous for its elaborately decorated tombs carved deep into the desert rock, which were filled with treasures for the afterlife of the pharaohs. You will visit three of these impressive tombs.
Following this, you'll visit the Hatshepsut Temple at El Deir El Bahary. This remarkable temple, dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh, rises from the desert plain in a series of terraces.
The tour also includes some leisure time in Luxor for shopping at original papyrus institutes and the alabaster factory. Finally, you'll be driven back to your hotel in Hurghada.
